Solar Basics

     Solar means the Sun in Latin, and it’s a powerful source of energy. In fact, the sunlight that shines on the Earth in just one hour could meet world energy demand for an entire year!

Solar energy can be converted into other forms of energy, such as heat and electricity. Since the beginning of the human race, solar energy has been used for heating water, keeping us warm in winter, and drying agricultural products. More recently, the human discovered using solar to generating electricity.

Today, more than 10,000 American families get all of their electricity from solar power. Unlike other conventional forms of energy, there is unlimited supply of solar energy, from the sun of course.
